THE COMMUNITY PERFORMING ARTS CLUB - Company Message
WELCOME TO CPAC

A GREAT PLACE FOR YOUTH AND COMMUNITY CULTURAL ENHANCEMENT

The Community Performing Arts Club has 2 primary goals:

1- To offer performing arts and culture via instruction and community events for the youth in our community such as Music, Dance, Drama, Tutorials, & Summer Day Camps at rates that are economical and affordable.

2- To develop an awareness of the performing arts in the CPAC community for youth and adults via live productions of music, dance, drama and cultural activities that are not normally  available.

In the upcoming seasons we will offer:

Academic Tutorials - with our "Music, Math, & Reading Program" - This Program will meet 3 times weekly for 2 hours. The tutorial has three 40 minute segments that include Music Instruction, Math Tutorial, and Reading Tutorial. The music instruction includes music theory, piano instruction, and computer music lab. The math and reading instruction has 1 teacher per 8 students who tutor the students in the basics of each subject and provides computerized assessments and work stations that can be accessed off site to allow further when not at CPAC.

Music Lessons - On Piano, Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion, and Guitars. We use our "Workshop Music Lesson" which is a small group lesson that either 90 minutes or two hours in length. The 90 minute lesson is in 3 segments: Music Theory, Basic Piano, and Computer Music Lab. The 3 small groups can have up to 8 in each and they rotate every 30 minutes. The maximum number of students in the 90 minute session is 24. The 2 hour lesson gives a student all of what is in the 90 minute session but includes a 30 minute private session with an instructor on the students primary instrument.

"Jazz Kidz" - Designed for middle school thru 9th grade band students who want to learn more about jazz, jazz history, jazz concepts, jazz theory, and jazz performance. The instructors are local artists and teachers as well as university instructors, jazz historians, and enthusiasts. The idea is to keep jazz alive through our youth. The "Jazz Kidz" will open up for professional artists when they are in town for major concerts.

Summer Day Camp - The Multi-Cultural Day Camp is for 2nd grade thru 11th grade students and will focus on exposing the youth to the performing arts and a multi-cultural experience.

This camp is for the children with an interest in:

1) Learning to play a band instrument such as Woodwind, Brass, Percussion, and Guitar

2) Also great for students who already play the above instruments and particularly good for 5th Grade Students who will be joining band in the 2012-2013 school season.

3) Singing in chorus or choirs whether in school, community choirs, or church

4) Dancing - including popular and appropriate youth dances, more elegant ballroom style dance & Liturgical dance (Praise & Mime)

5) Drama - including poems, monologues, skits, and short plays with specific youth themes.

This camp offers academic sessions in math, reading, vocabulary, and spelling. It also offers recreation and games, field trips, and introduction to jazz. We want to build well rounded student performing artists.
